March is here, and Spring is just around the corner- we have been adding tons of new listings perfect for Spring all week at Castaway Vintage! Finally we’ve acquired a somewhat professional indoor lighting system since our house is so dark surrounded by foliage, and our outdoor photo shoots were becoming less and less frequent with my boyfriend’s busy work schedule and preference for surfing on days off over taking pictures ( I don’t blame him)! So now we can finally get caught up with the 2 full rolling racks of vintage clothing taking over our spare room, and bring new listings pretty much daily to the site!!
Check out a few of our new Spring listings still available newly listed, though they are selling fast!

It’s not very often that I gravitate towards 70’s style dresses, as most of my taste tends towards more of a 60’s or 90’s edge, though I LOVE 70’s high waisted jeans and wedges!! I found this dress last week and just really loved the sheer delicate fabric with the pleating on top, loose airy sleeves, burgundy tones and mixed prints. After I put it on to style for the shop, I’m wondering why I don’t have more 70’s dresses- this is super cute! I guess I’m just a person of habit and tend to steer away from ‘the unknown’ and re-buy the same sort of thing that I KNOW I like (polka dots, stripes, plaid, 60’s mini dresses, 90’s babydoll and bodycon). I guess 2011 is about venturing out a bit more, and hope to reflect that in the shop with a bit more variety, while staying true to style integrity. I hope you like this dress as much as I do, this and more up now at Castaway Vintage!

One of my absolute favorite prints are by far polka dots. I was so happy to see their return to the runway for Spring 2010 and accessibility in so many shops right now of all sorts and sizes. I’m always looking for them and this year they are easier than ever to find and wear. Just keep in mind only one polka dot item at a time is suggested to avoid going overboard, and sticking to smaller dots to keep it classy.
